Provided with 16 LEDs, together covering the spectrum from 365 nm to 770 nm, the Lumen 1600 can provide either wide spectrum white light, or up to four narrow wavelengths of light, depending on the needs of the user. Ideal for advanced research and core facilities, the Lumen 1600 is flexible, easy to use, and designed to produce the very best in fluorescent imaging. Using an innovative four channel system, in which LEDs of similar wavelengths are placed in the same channel, up to four distinct flurophores can be excited simultaneously. The groupings allow the use of almost all stains used in multi-band combinations allowing great flexibility in experimental work.

Key features:

Flexible and easy to use

Excellently excites most common fluorophores

Can excite up to four distinct flurophores simultaneously – ideal for complex multi-band work

Compatible with all commercially available dual, triple and quadruple filters

LEDs offer fine control (in 1% increments), instant switch-on, consistent light, and minimal heat and vibration production, with an operational lifetime of at least 25,000 hours

LED intensity can be altered individually.

Multiple pre-set configurations can be created, stored and used.

The combination of Prior’s proprietary 2,000 hour life, 200 watt metal arc lamp and two or three meter liquid light guide provide unrivalled versatility and illumination power. The Lumen 200 utilizes a metal halide lamp rather than the more traditional high pressure mercury or xenon burners. This means 2000 hours of stable output compared to a maximum of 300 hours for a mercury lamp. Coupled to the microscope using a liquid light guide there is very little heat transfer helping to eliminate thermal drift during time lapse experiments. The Lumen 200 also incorporates a variable light attenuation control to reduce the potential of bleaching and phototoxicity.

Prior also offers the Lumen 220 model which offers extended transmission in UV and IR compared to the standard Lumen 200 model. Prior Scientific also offers the Lumen 220 Fluorescence Illumination System with extended wavelength in UV and IR. The pE-100wht is a powerful white LED illumination system designed to replace a 100W halogen lamp.

Histologists and cytologists who are familiar with results from a conventional halogen lamp can immediately make accurate and reliable diagnosis using the pE-100wht as colours will appear the same.

Unlike a Halogen lamp, the colour balance of the pE-100wht illumination system does not vary with intensity, removing the need to make any adjustment.

The many additional benefits which LEDs offer – mercury-free, instant on/off, control and repeatability – mean that laboratories using halogen lamps will find that the move to the pE-100wht is obvious and simple.

Key Features:

Spectral performance matched to 100W halogen – familiar images

No variation in colour across intensity range – no need to colour balance

Replaces 100W halogen lamp housing on most current and older microscopes – quick & easy exchange

No unwanted UV – reduced risk of eye damage

Instant on/off – no shutters required, no warm up or cool down

Simple to fit, simple to use – no need to align

Stable & repeatable – reliable and consistent results

Wide range of microscope adaptors – fits most microscopes

Precise intensity control in 1% steps (0-100%) – no ND filters required

Excellent uniformity over field of view – fixed and stable, no alignment necessary

Long lifetime – expected to exceed 50,000 hours of operating time
